Simple Beef and Leek Kebabs Recipe

Simple but delectable kebab recipe

A delicious dish that can be cooked conventionally or over a hot barbeque.


500 grams beef sirloin or rump
1 garlic clove
2 medium leeks
½ teaspoon cumin
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon coriander
½ cup of olive oil
½ tablespoon cider vinegar

Recipe Instructions

Prepare the ingredients.
Finely slice or crush the garlic. Cut the beef into 2cm cubes. Trim the leeks to the white flesh only and chop them into 2cm slices.

Make the marinade.
Add all the ingredients into a bowl and gently toss together until the beef and leeks are coated in the marinade.

Cover the bowl with cling film and leave in the fridge for 12 hours. Stir the mixture halfway through to ensure that all the leeks and beef cubes are coated.

Prepare the kebabs.
Take the chunks of beef and leeks from the bowl and place them on kebab sticks. Place the kebabs under a hot grill and cook for 4 – 5 minutes on each side.

Serve the kebabs with a Greek yogurt dip and dolmades.
